I:Please, please sit.
B: Thank you. I’m so happy to be here.
I: The pleasure is ours. So Bobbi, it seems like you have the world’s dream job, what’s it like to live in it?
B: I have a very eclectic, rich life, full of incredible experiences, meeting phenomenal people, with things that you would never expect to happen. But, I'm really lucky because despite the dream job, I also live a normal life in the household with three not-so-kids to baby and a loving husband to love. There are two sides of me, and it’s really fun to have both.
I: Does that feel like you’re two different people?
B: No, no of course not. It’s the same ol' Bobbi doing both. i go to the office in sweatshirts and pants, very casual but in front of the camera, then I’d have to change but as soon as it’s done, I go back to pyjamas.
I: What’s the most unexpected experience you never thought would become a part of your life now?
B: Here’s a girl who got Ds in math, and I have my business and I’m on the U.S. Trade Commission. Who ever would have thought? I mean I walk through the White House a couple times a year and the President says, 'Hey, Bobbi! Michelle, look who’s here.’ Or I get invited to lunch by the First Lady. Nothing special, right? I try to take it all with a grain of salt (to accept a thing less than fully).
I: Do you ever age? HAHAHAHA You really don't see like you age considering you’re in your 50s. What’s your secret?
B: I try to keep a healthy life and that’s what my products do ;) but it’s mostly healthy living.
I: Do you feel like there is a lot of pressure to not age in an industry that celebrates youth?
B: I don’t feel the pressure about aging. I feel very lucky that I feel as good as I do at my age. And, it’s not just a gift, it’s something that I have worked on. I told you. it’s a healthy life and a bit of concealer that’s it.
I: How do you feel about plastic surgery?
B: It’s a big no. Just no. Trust me, there are days when I look in the mirror and I see my two lines, but I say, 'Oh my God, what’s the big deal?' I just won’t do it, because I’ve seen so many not-attractive things. I think when you start to fill in little teeny things, there is an imbalance in your face, and I notice it on people. Everyone always does things when they are tired and don’t feel good. I look at women who are 70 and older, and the ones that look so good have a very rich life, and it’s not from money. It’s a rich life with people they love, with a lot of happiness, and that’s the secret. I can’t compete with someone taller, younger, prettier, thinner, so I might as well just be myself. I can compete with people who are not nice. I win on that.
I: Personality over unreality, I like that. Thank you Bobbi. Sad to say but we’re running out of time. We’d love to have you over again.
B: IT was nice meeting you and I’d love to share more about my experiences. Thanks for having me.
